Premium Entertainment
Our Story
20 years. 10,000 events. All across the Northeast.
The Beginning
It Started With a Turntable
Premium Entertainment didn't begin in a boardroom. It began in a basement - one turntable, a crate of vinyl, and a teenager who noticed something most DJs missed: the best nights weren't about the loudest drops. They were about the moments when an entire room moved together, when the right song at the right time turned strangers into a dance floor.
That kid started spinning school dances and backyard parties across New Jersey. Word spread. Then came the weddings - and with them, a realization. The wedding entertainment industry was stuck. Cheesy MCs, cookie-cutter playlists, ego-driven performances that made the night about the DJ instead of the couple. There had to be a better way.
So Premium Entertainment was built on a simple idea: entertainment should be elevated, never ego-driven. Fun without the gimmicks. Energy without the cringe. A company that reads the room instead of performing for it.
Over 20 years and 10,000+ events later, that philosophy hasn't changed. What started as one person with a passion for music has grown into a full-service entertainment production company - trusted at 50+ premier venues across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, featured on theKnot, weTV's Platinum Weddings, and Z100, and responsible for live productions at stadiums with crowds exceeding 85,000.
We're still that kid who fell in love with the dance floor. We just have better equipment now - and a team that shares the same obsession with getting it right.
That team has grown into something none of us could have pictured in the basement: more than two dozen DJs, MCs, sound engineers, lighting designers, and producers who perform somewhere in the Northeast almost every weekend of the year. We've built our own training program because we couldn't find one strict enough to match the standard we wanted, and every Premium DJ apprentices for a full season on the road - shadowing senior performers at Stroudsmoor, Crystal Springs, Bear Brook Valley, and the Landmark Hospitality venues - before they ever lead an event on their own.
Behind the performers is a full back-of-house operation most clients never see: a planning team that walks new couples through their timeline, a creative department that designs monograms, intro videos, and photo booth print templates in-house, and a production warehouse in northern New Jersey stocked with the redundant sound and lighting inventory that lets us send a backup rig to every wedding by default. None of it is glamorous, and none of it shows up in a sales brochure. It just means that when something unexpected happens at your reception - a power circuit trips, a cable fails, a speech runs long - the night keeps moving and you never know there was a problem.

Our Philosophy
It's About You, Not Us
We understand that your wedding is about you - not the DJ. Music is our tool, not our ego. We use it to read the room, build energy at just the right moments, and keep every guest engaged from cocktail hour to the last dance. Fun is the whole point - and we deliver it without making it about us.
You won't hear the chicken dance. You won't see cheesy gimmicks or over-the-top MC antics. What you will experience is fun, tasteful entertainment that's never too clubby - where the dance floor stays packed and everyone from your college friends to your grandmother is having the time of their life.
Every Premium wedding starts with a real planning conversation - not a form, not a portal, not a sales pitch. Your DJ sits down with you months before the date to walk through the music that actually matters to your family, the moments you want held sacred, and the moments you'd happily let go. We build the timeline alongside your planner, write the introductions in your voice instead of ours, and arrive on the day already knowing how every guest at the head table likes to be announced. That preparation is what makes a reception feel personal instead of produced.
The other half of our philosophy is restraint. A great wedding DJ is, more than anything, a great listener - someone who can read a room in the first thirty minutes of cocktail hour and shape the rest of the night around what that specific crowd actually responds to. We don't push requests at our couples that serve our preferences. We don't add effects because we own them. Every cue, every lighting change, every transition has to earn its place in your evening, or it doesn't make the cut.
That restraint extends to the equipment we put in front of your guests. Our booth design is intentionally minimal - a clean black facade, a single laptop, and a microphone - because your reception is not the moment to showcase a sponsor logo or a lighted DJ banner. The work happens behind the scenes; what the room sees is the wedding you planned, not the company you hired.
